How we look after your family's details
Stor holds the small, ordinary things about the people you love. That's a lot of trust, so here is exactly what happens to it, in plain English. This page is written and maintained by us, the people building Stor.
What we hold
The names you add for the people in your family, your own name and email, and the things you ask Stor to remember — entries, notes, lifts, special days, and the people in your village.
If you add a photo for the top of your week, or send us a note about how Stor is working, we hold those too.
Who can see it
The grown-ups in your own household, and nobody else's. Your week is not visible to other families using Stor.
We can see the ordinary contents of your Stor if we need to — to fix something you've told us about, or to keep Stor working. We don't go looking otherwise, and we don't read it for any other reason.
The Document Pocket is different
Anything you put in the Document Pocket is scrambled on your own phone before it ever reaches us, using a key that comes from your PIN or your fingerprint. We only ever hold the scrambled version.
That means we genuinely cannot read it — not to help you, not by accident, not if someone asked us to. It also means that if you forget your PIN, that content is gone for good. There is no back door, for you or for us.
What we never do
We never sell your details. We never share them with advertisers. We never hand your family's information to anyone else to use for their own purposes.
We don't run advertising in Stor, and we don't build a profile of you to sell on.
Who else is involved
Stor runs on trusted hosting and database services, which is how your week reaches both parents' phones. They hold the data on our behalf and are not allowed to use it for anything else.
When you speak to Stor or hand it a photo, that recording or image is sent to an AI service to be turned into words. It's used to answer that one request and not to train anything.
Children
Stor is for the grown-ups doing the carrying. Children don't have accounts and don't sign in. Their names, and the things you're holding for them, are yours — kept for you, not used for anything else.
How long we keep it, and how to have it deleted
We keep what's in your Stor for as long as you're using it. Ask us and we will delete your account and everything in it — the whole household — and confirm when it's done.
You can also ask us for a copy of what we hold. Send the request through the "Tell us something" note inside Stor and we'll come back to you.
Stor is still being built with the families using it, so this page will change as Stor does. If anything here isn't clear, ask us — the "Tell us something" note inside Stor comes straight to us.
